Tropical Rain Storm Iberostar Laguna Azul Varadero Beach Cuba

Tropical Rain Storm Iberostar Laguna Azul Varadero Beach Cuba

The weather during our stay at the Iberostar laguna Azul Resort in Varadero Cuba was absolutely fantastic except for this brief, late afternoon, tropical rain storm and the clouds that it left behind for the rest of the day. When I say a brief tropical rain storm, I do mean brief, it lasted no more than 20 minutes in total and it was around 4 o’clock in the afternoon so we had a full day of fun in the sun on Varadero beach. There had been a haziness building up which started mid afternoon and the clouds gradually started rollingĀ  in around 3. We felt the first few drops of rain while we were still on the beach, just before 4 but up until then it had still been a beautiful Varadero beach day. When we felt the first few drops of rain we packed up our things and left the beach and headed to our room. Even though the building our room was in had a great location on the Iberostar Laguna Azul resort, nice and close to Varadero beach, we still got a little wet, but nothing compared to how wet we would have gotten had we not left the beach when we did. As soon as I got to the room I went out onto the balcony with my Nikon D7000 and filmed the tropical rain storm.

The Iberostar Laguna Azul Beach Resort is located on a beautiful stretch of Vardero Beach, about 10 miles from the city centre of Varadero Cuba and about 25 miles or a 30 minute drive from Varadero Airport. There are 814 spacious hotel rooms at the Iberostar Laguna Azul Beach Resort along with 6 swimming pools, a theater, a night club, 5 resaurants and a number of bars.

Varadero Cuba is a beach resort town located on Cuba’s northern coast, with it’s 20 km stretch of beaches, it is one of the largest resort areas in the Caribbean.
