I Switched to Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium Suite, Sort Of…
It has been a while since I posted here and since I made this video about switching from Apple Final Cut Pro to Adobe CS5.5 Premium Suit, but I thought it was time I tried to get caught up.
One thing must be clear, I Love Final Cut Pro! But when Apple came out with Final Cut Pro X, my Mac Pro tower missed the system requirements by one generation and so it would not work on my Mac. Then Adobe drastically reduced the price of the Adobe CS5.5 Production Premium Suite which includes among other things Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. I needed a new version of Photoshop and I was interested in trying After Effects and at the sale price I could get the whole suite for the price of After Effects. So I bought it and after using it to varying degrees over the past year and a half, I can say that I’m really pleased with it. Does that mean I’ll never go back to Final Cut Pro? No, I think there’s room in my life for both so when I upgrade my Mac I’ll probably get the new Final Cut. What it does mean is that I’m very happy with where I’m at now and that its too bad that Apple didn’t make their software as compatible with their own machines as Adobe did. In fact the Adobe Production Premium Suite runs better on my MacPro than my current version of Final Cut Pro. Well Done Adobe.
