Sorrento Italy a Beautiful Seaside Town

The beautiful seaside town of Sorrento is part of the coastline of the Mediterranean side of Italy. Perched high atop cliffs overlooking it’s marinas at the base of the cliffs, the Bay of Naples and the rest of the Mediterranean Sea, Sorrento was an excellent place to use as a base for touring around this spectacular part of the Italian Coast. Sorrento is a relatively small town but there is certainly a lot to see, from the many churches, piazzas and other architectural treasures to the views of the cliffs, Mediterranean Sea and other natural beauty. From a food point of view, I’m sure all the food is good but I have to admit that I mostly ate pizza as the region is know for it’s buffalo mozzarella which made all the pizza I ate taste fantastic. Although Sorrento isn’t part of the Amalfi Coast, it is just around the corner from the Amalfi Coast so we hired a car and drove from Sorrento along the wandering road that follow the Amalfi Coastline, through Positano, Ravello and Amalfi. and we cruised along the coastline and out to Capri in a private boat. Sorrento is a great spot for doing day trips like these to explore this part of the Italian Coast and the Mediterranean Sea.
