GoPro vs Creature from the Bottom of the Lake

There’s nothing better in the summer than relaxing with friends at a cottage and going for a swim in the lake. My friend’s kids decided they were going to do just that, go for a swim in the lake, so I tied my GoPro camera to a floatie and threw it in hoping to get some footage of the kids swimming and maybe some fish swimming by and it worked, sort of. I actually used this floating rig with my GoPro camera a few times and one of those times, after throwing the GoPro in my wife saw a very large snapping turtle looking up at her while she sat on the dock. I grabbed the rope with the GoPro camera and tried to get it closer to the snapping turtle but it disappeared under the dock. Little did I know until after I looked at the GoPro footage that the GoPro already got very close to the snapping turtle before my wife even saw it. When I saw the footage I had I thought I could combine some of it into a bit of a creepy short film.
The footage of the kids swimming and the footage of the snapping turtle were at two different times so the children weren’t actually near the snapping turtle. From my understanding of snapping turtles, although their bite can cause sever injury they will usually retreat from splashing swimmers.
